Privacy notice
Last updated · 04 May 2026
This notice explains what personal data DataSnipe collects through the landing page and web application, why, and how we handle it. We act as the data controller for account data and as a data processor for documents you submit for extraction.
What we collect
Account data: name, email, account details, support messages, and billing or payment records if you purchase credits.
Service data: documents you upload, extracted text, page chunks, extracted rows, job outputs, citation snippets, citation images, confidence scores, model choices, token usage, costs, usage records, and related metadata.
Telemetry: IP address, request path, user ID, job ID, errors, token usage, request timing, browser or device details, and server logs. Logs are retained for 30 days.
How we use it
We use this data to provide the Service, run extraction jobs, generate citations and confidence scores, maintain your account, manage credits and billing, provide support by email, detect abuse or security issues, debug and improve usability, and communicate with you about DataSnipe.
DataSnipe does not train its own models on your documents.
Sharing
We share the content needed to run a job with the model providers you select, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Depending on the document and extraction, this may include PDFs, images, scans, extracted text, page chunks, or the whole document. These providers may process content under their own terms.
We use Fly.io to host the app and database, and Resend to send email. If credit purchases are available, payment providers may process payment details.
Retention
We may retain uploaded source documents where needed to provide or improve usability, though source documents are not always stored. We retain extracted rows, job outputs, citation snippets, citation images, usage records, and related metadata until you delete them, ask us to delete them, or we no longer need them to operate the Service. If your account is closed, we may retain service data unless deletion is requested so that the account can be reactivated.
Deleting a job removes its extracted rows, citation images, metadata, and any stored source document from the active service. Deletion is irreversible and there is no recovery mechanism. Deleted data may take time to age out of backups. Billing records may be retained for as long as required by law.
Exports, cookies, and security
You can access, export, and delete your data from the app. Exported copies are outside DataSnipe's control once downloaded or shared by you.
The landing page does not set DataSnipe cookies. The web app uses essential cookies only for login and session management after you sign in.
We do not currently use analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or a third-party support desk. We use HTTPS/TLS, access controls, backups, and limited admin access.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data from the app. Logged-in users can contact us from inside DataSnipe about privacy requests, and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this notice as DataSnipe evolves during early access. If we make material changes, we will notify users by email.
